Maria Andreina Fernandez

Maria practiced law as a Venezuelan attorney for 22 years as in-house counsel for American companies such as Praxair-Venezuela and Cargill-Venezuela, where she managed legal risks and negotiated contracts in countries throughout Central and South America which enabled her to gain much insight into corporate practices and human relations within the workplace. Maria moved to the United States several years ago. She is a member of the Burnham Douglass legal team where she provides paralegal services in a compassionate, well-reasoned and personal manner as she has the pleasure of working with many of our employment law clients on a regular basis. Maria’s paralegal services include many important responsibilities such as client intake, calendar management, scheduling, discovery management, motion practice, mediation and trial preparation. She finds that trial preparation and attending trial to be the most exciting aspect of her work, all the while recognizing that the aim is to reach a mutual resolution between the parties.
Maria obtained her law degree from Santa Maria University, Venezuela. She also has a Business Certification in Business Management for Attorneys from the Institute of Management Superior Studies, Venezuela; and she is currently working on finishing a Bioethics Master Degree at the Central University in Venezuela. Maria has obtained an Associates Degree in Applied Science with a Paralegal Major at the Atlantic Cape Community College while living in the United States. Maria Andreina is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
While it seems that during most of her waking hours she is either working or attending college to advance her education, she makes time for other interests. Maria loves music, traveling and going to fine restaurants with her husband.
